On a gas dryer the usual culprits are the igniter, gas valve, or flame sensor; on an electric dryer it's typically a failed heating element, contactor, or thermal fuse; on a steam unit it's the coil, trap, or solenoid. Long dry times almost always trace to airflow: lint-clogged lint screens or ducting, a failing blower, blocked venting, or a weak burner/element. Restricted airflow wastes energy and raises fire risk, so it's worth fixing promptly. We clean, test airflow, and repair the underlying cause.
