Parts vs Aftermarket: A Quick Reality Check

Aftermarket parts are tempting on price — sometimes 30-40% less than OEM. We don't sell them, and here's why we recommend OEM for commercial accounts:

1. Warranty. OEM parts maintain manufacturer warranty coverage on the rest of the machine. Installing an aftermarket motor or controller can void coverage on the assemblies it interacts with.
2. Fit. "Equivalent" aftermarket parts often miss a dimension by 1-2mm, requiring shimming, hole drilling, or modification — turning a 30-minute repair into a multi-hour project.
3. Longevity. The cost difference disappears the second time you have to replace the same aftermarket part inside its expected service life.
4. Liability. For healthcare laundries with HLAC certification or fire departments under NFPA 1851, non-OEM parts can create compliance and liability problems.

Pricing on standing orders is contracted and typically below per-unit retail.

Do you ship UniMac parts outside the NJ tri-state area?

Yes. Standard parcel shipping is available anywhere in the continental US. For our core service area (NJ, eastern PA, NYC, Delaware) we offer same-day local delivery on in-stock parts when ordered before 10 AM.

What if I need a part that's not in stock?

Less common UniMac parts ship from Alliance Laundry Systems' Wisconsin distribution center, typically next-business-day to our Jackson, NJ shop. We'll quote the lead time when you order.

Can I buy parts as a do-it-yourself customer, or do you only sell to service providers?

We sell parts to commercial laundry operators directly, not just to service providers. Many of our customers handle their own routine maintenance and call us for parts plus expert advice on installation.

Do you carry parts for non-UniMac brands?

We stock UniMac OEM parts; for other brands we can source through their respective distribution networks. Lead times and pricing vary.
