H7S M-Series Control — NFPA Standards Built In

The H7S Control is the brain of the UTGC. It manages drying and cooling cycles programmed to meet NFPA standards for protective ensemble care — temperature limits, dwell times, cool-down cycles. Operators can adjust time settings to match their station's gear and operational needs.

  • 5 standard NFPA-programmed cycles
  • Operator-adjustable time settings
  • Contributes to NFPA 1850 compliance
  • Pairs with NFPA 1851-compliant turnout-gear washer-extractors
  • Simple operator interface — easy training for new firefighters

The Complete Turnout Gear Care Workflow

Turnout gear care is a two-step process: cleaning (NFPA 1851) followed by drying (the UTGC's job). For a complete NFPA 1851-compliant turnout-gear care program, pair the UTGC with one of these UniMac washer-extractor configurations:

  • UCT040 Fire Configuration — 40 lb cabinet hardmount with custom fire industry cycles standard, Temperature Control Fill (capped at 105°F)
  • UCT060 Fire Configuration — 60 lb cabinet hardmount, same fire cycles
  • UWT Pocket Hardmount — Packages 1, 2, 3 include custom Fire Industry Cycles standard, configurable for NFPA 1851 turnout-gear cleaning

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the UniMac UTGC Firefighter PPE Drying Cabinet?

The UTGC is a purpose-built drying cabinet for firefighter turnout gear. After bunker gear is washed in a turnout-gear washer-extractor (NFPA 1851 compliant), it needs to be dried at controlled temperatures to preserve the integrity of the outer shell, moisture barrier, and thermal liner. The UTGC's H7S control is programmed for NFPA standards and dries 6 full sets of gear plus 15 gloves/boots simultaneously.

Is the UTGC NFPA compliant?

Yes. The UTGC's H7S Control is programmed to meet NFPA standards for protective ensemble drying, and the cabinet contributes to compliance with NFPA 1850 (Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Structural Fire Fighting Personal Protective Ensembles). It also pairs with washer-extractors configured for NFPA 1851-compliant turnout gear cleaning.

How much turnout gear does the UTGC hold?

Each UTGC holds 6 full sets of firefighter turnout gear (coat, pants, hood, suspenders) plus up to 15 gloves and/or boots on the included glove/boot rack.

Which voltage do I need — 208V or 240V, 1-Phase or 3-Phase?

Voltage selection must match your station's available electrical service. 1-phase is more common in smaller stations; 3-phase in larger or newer facilities. If you are not sure what you have, call us at (732) 681-0500 or check with your station electrician. All 4 voltage variants are priced identically.

Does the price include freight and installation?

No. Prices shown are for the equipment only. Freight and installation are quoted separately based on your station location and electrical hookup requirements. Call (732) 681-0500 for a complete delivered-and-installed quote.

Can the UTGC be used for general PPE drying, not just turnout gear?

Yes — the UTGC's racks accommodate any structural firefighting PPE, including industrial cleanroom suits, hazmat suits, and uniform layers that need controlled-temperature drying. The H7S control is specifically programmed for NFPA-compliant cycles but is suitable for general PPE drying as well.

Are there optional accessories?

The FR250 Single Utility Shelf is available as an optional add-on through Alliance Laundry Systems Genuine Parts. We can include it in your quote — ask us for current pricing.

How long is the lead time?

Standard configurations typically ship in 4-8 weeks from Alliance Laundry Systems. We confirm current lead time at quote.

Do you offer grant assistance for fire department equipment purchases?

We can help identify FEMA AFG (Assistance to Firefighters Grant) and similar federal/state grant opportunities that fund turnout-gear cleaning and drying equipment. We have helped multiple NJ-area departments build AFG-compatible specifications.

Do you service the equipment after installation?

Yes. HM Commercial Laundry is the authorized warranty service provider for UniMac equipment across NJ, eastern PA, NYC, and Delaware. We also offer Preventative Maintenance Programs that extend equipment life and ensure NFPA compliance over time.
