Return & Refund Policy

How returns, cancellations, and warranty claims work for commercial laundry equipment and parts

1. Overview

HM Commercial Laundry sells commercial laundry equipment that is, in most cases, built or configured to order by the manufacturer for your specific installation (capacity, voltage, heat source, control, and options). Because of this, equipment orders are treated differently from off-the-shelf retail purchases. This page explains exactly what is and is not returnable, and how cancellations, freight damage, and defects are handled.

All equipment we sell is for commercial use only. Prices shown on our website exclude freight and installation, which are quoted separately before any order is placed — you will always know your full cost before committing.

2. Equipment Orders

Before Your Order Is Placed with the Factory

You may cancel for a full refund at any time before we submit your order to the manufacturer. Every equipment sale begins with a written quotation, so there is a clear window to review and confirm your configuration before anything is committed.

After Your Order Is Placed with the Factory

Once an order has been submitted to the manufacturer, cancellations and returns of non-defective equipment are generally not accepted, because the unit is built or allocated to your specification. Where the manufacturer permits a cancellation or return, it may be subject to manufacturer restocking charges and freight costs. We will confirm any such charges with you in writing before proceeding.

Damage in Transit

Inspect equipment at delivery before signing the freight receipt. If there is visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt and contact us within 48 hours at (732) 681-0500. We will manage the freight claim and arrange repair or replacement — you will not be left to fight the carrier yourself.

Defective Equipment

Equipment that arrives defective, or fails within the warranty period, is covered by the manufacturer's factory warranty. As the authorized UniMac dealer and certified servicer for our territory, we handle warranty diagnosis, parts, and repair directly. If a unit cannot be repaired under warranty, we will work with the manufacturer to replace it. Warranty terms are set by the manufacturer and are described on each product page and in your equipment documentation.

Our Error

If we ship the wrong model or configuration from what your written quotation specifies, we will correct it at no cost to you.

3. Parts

Unused, uninstalled parts in their original packaging may be returned within 30 days of purchase with prior authorization. Contact us before shipping anything back — returns without a return authorization cannot be accepted. Installed parts, electrical/electronic components that have been installed, and special-order parts are not returnable, except when defective (defective parts are covered by the manufacturer's parts warranty).

4. Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Refunds are processed promptly once the return is received and inspected, or once a cancellation is confirmed — typically within 10 business days.

5. How to Request a Return, Cancellation, or Warranty Claim

Please have your invoice or quotation number, the equipment model and serial number, and photos of any damage. For freight damage, contact us within 48 hours of delivery; for other issues, within 30 days.
